What to Wear to Your Next Session

We know what it’s like to want to choose the perfect outfit for your shoot— so we put together this blog to help you do just that!

Be yourself

You want to look back on your photo session and see yourself; make sure to wear what makes you feel comfortable—

Your photos should be a representation of you.

Neutral or Colourful?

Neutral colours will always be timeless; if you aren’t sure what to wear, creams, blacks, whites, and brown tones will always be in style.

Colour brings a lot of personality to your images. If you’re going to add colour, add a pop of colour like Teagan & Andy did in the photograph below.

It’s not rocket science. Keep it simple. If you’re not sure, just ask us!

Thinking About Patterns

Bold or busy patterns create a focal point. Larger plaids, soft ginghams and subtle striped prints are great ways to add interest without detracting from you as the focus of your photos.

Comfort vs. Style

You don’t have to choose between comfort and style. Instead, dress appropriately for the season.

  • For fall or winter sessions, wear layers

  • Wear appropriate footwear, or bring a change of shoes to walk around in.

You will enjoy your session so much more if you are comfortable.

Matching vs. Complimenting

A common misconception is that everyone must match for group or family photos— we disagree. Choosing pieces within the same colour family (tonal), or by choosing colours that compliment each other allows for a cohesive look. If you’re going to match colour, mix it up with texture.
