For most couples, their engagement session is the first time ever having photos taken together. I insist every couple does it with us before we photograph their wedding. Why? Because I want to get rid of any ideas of what a session could be, and guide my clients into what photography should be. It should be fun. It should be simple. It should tell a story.
Enter Dustin and Dani. They honestly didn’t ask for much. They just wanted something that was them. But what does that mean? Well for me, it means keeping it simple. I told them I’d head over to their home, and then start from there. I’m we did. We headed down to the river overlooking the city to get a beautiful sunset, and then ended up in their backyard having drinks around a fire.
Simple right? I invited them into the studio for their reveal. I was super excited to show them! After their keepsake film was done playing, she said “This is so us!”
