Friends and Family Day 2021

For the past few years, each fall, we've invited our past clients (new and old) to a "Friends and Family Day". It's a time for us to be creative with some photos of families we've worked with before, and an opportunity for those in "the club" to get a free photo shoot. It can be just one person, a couple, a family with kids (or a pet), or a whole extended family. It's an expression of our gratitude for those that choose to work with us and each year, we shoot in a slightly different way.

This was our first fall in our new studio space, so we went with a dirty frame composition (where you can see the background of the studio) to give a more casual, personal, lived-in feel to the portraits. This was also the second year that we utilized video lights instead of typical camera strobes - this means that we don't need to worry about misfires or blinks in the shots, and also gives us great lighting to film some behind-the-scenes footage of the event.
